I've just updated to AS2017.
I have an issue where my label text is shown as italic, even though the italic options are unchecked. Any ideas where to look to fix this?

well Paul........we must be the only two users experiencing this problem
Any one from AutoDesk on this yet?
Apparently this is happening to a lot of people who upgraded to AS2017, myself being one. Graitec UK are aware of this and are looking into it.
OK...........good to know...........I guess that's why my Case Number hasn't been closed out yet
Same thing on french release... Having trouble with explode command on special parts to... Someone experiencing this ?
alerat..........if you need to explode the part............maybe explode in pure AutoCad then re-insert.........but sure.........it's the same for the English release........why wouldn't it be !!!!
just out of interest........where are you.....me.........91600
Hi Paul,
Could you please send me a model and the detail drawing showing the issue ?
I will take a look right away on it.
Thank you
Best regards,
Emy
Had a play, restored the system to default using the repair feature and this time did not convert the databases from 2016 and the problem has disappeared, no more italics.
I then converted the following 3 databases AstorBase, AstorDetails and AstorSettings, then when I went back and created a test model I then got italics again.
My conclusion is there is an issue in the converson process in one of the 3 databases. I will try and isolate which one is the issue.
OK, it looks like the AstorSettings conversion is the problem. The other databases don't cause this issue. If you are having this issue then you have most likely followed the Autodesk recommended migration including the databases and you will need to repair the install.
I'm having text issues as well.
You're right there's a problem with merging databases, the settings come in all wonky.
I tried importing a profile settings xml file and deleting the merged one, and that worked ok, but it doesn't fix the problem with the funny text.
I'm beginning to wonder if this software in a perpetual state of Beta release.
Ironically, I had predicted problems with migrating to 2017 but foolishly went through with it anyway.
That is why I started a thread asking people what is the correct way to migrate. I suspect nobody (least of all Autodesk) know the answer.
Their published guidelines are little more than a re-hash of the previous guidelines.
Happens to me too. Italic text in the shop drawings.
Once again the conversion process has been quite wonky.....migrates some entries not others. Especially for custom API conn rules and such.
Had hopes this year that things would go a little smoother but I have found that I cannot trust the CONVERT DATABASES feature in Management Tools.
An Access merge tool like AccdbMergePro helps a little.
It makes a backup of files but I always recommend to copy all orig A/S files and have them as back-up in case you need to start from scratch.

Changing the font in the DEFAULTS of MT to txt, saving settings and updating defaults.... then going back and chaging it BACK to arial (or wahtever font you want) fixed it for me. Update any drawings you should be good.
...........fixed it for me too.........top banana.......top solution wslomiany....that deserves a big fat kudos
Well, after updating my software to the latest Hotfix (AS2017 Build 1024) my text has now all changed to the font "txt.shx" although that is not the font selected in my Management Tools. Arial is what's shown in my Management tools.
Even weirder, when I changed the font name in Management tools from "arial" to "Arial" then things started to work properly again. Apparently Management Tools font selection is case sensitive?
