Here's a direct quote from someone at my reseller when I asked if AS was soon to be killed off. They are diverting development resources to work on a cloud based detailing solution. I would love to know what this cloud based solution is. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess it's not Autocad based which is really going to suck for us veteran Autocad users.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Its in Autodesk’s plan to keep Steel Detailing active into their solution offerings to get a stronger BIM tool that will be cloud based. This is one reason why they had to put the Advance Steel software as what we know it today on a maintenance mode, they are not killing it. They are taking programming resources to push Advance Steel functionalities into this new tool. This might take a few years before we can have a strong viable solution that will be cloud based on the Autodesk side.
