Hey guys,

I am numbering single parts at 1000 & assemblies at 100 both 'with drawing number' method. The problem I am getting is an additional number being added to the front of my SP and MP numbers, its doing my head in.

Any help please?

That numbering method also has its up and downs. But you can still use the number method that you used now. You can try to fix it by deleting the drawings with the extra 1. Then select only those elements in the model and ungroup and delete their single part numbers. The renumber the project. The have a look in the project browser to see what the next available number would be for beams for example M1.... The when you recreate the drawings, dont put 1000 in the drawing number but put the next number in sequence for the beam. The part should now get the next available number and not with the extra 1.

It says "Counter must be present" because you are using "With drawing number" so it need a counter to perfom his task before drawing were made.

Personnaly I'm using this setting and also "Reuse unused number" as shown bellow.

So no matter if I'm processing drawings then delete them and/or adding some more, it keep tracking parts/assy's numbers without any issues.

Post numbering is all on you and what your customer needs.
