As of today, 3D models have no endorsement.
Drawings are endorsed by Professional Engineers on 2D. When they are being printed and distributed, we ensure that the drawings are the approved and accountable. However, 3D models are distributed with various version and downloaded multiple times.
Most of the time, customers will be using ACC to view the federated models via ACC. However, when they are distributing among task team or construction team, the models are being downloaded with changes and weekly updates.
However, authorities find it difficult to understand which version is the reviewed and accountable. Therefore, I would like to propose that the Blockchain technology is a tool to use for endorsing 3D models. I propose the metadata from approval workflow from ACC tag the 3D models in the authoring software too.
