Add Option for Changing Review Initiator in ACC Reviews

Add Option for Changing Review Initiator in ACC Reviews

when the review initiator goes on leave, leaves the company, or moves to another project, there is currently no way to transfer ownership of the review to another user. This situation disrupts our workflow, causes delays, and sometimes forces us to cancel and restart reviews from scratch.

We kindly request that you consider adding a feature that allows the review initiator to be changed during an active review, or to enable project administrators to transfer review ownership. Such a feature would greatly improve process continuity, efficiency, and flexibility, especially in large projects.

We would appreciate any information about whether this functionality is planned for future releases, or if you can suggest an alternative solution in the meantime.

Thank you very much for your attention to this matter.

Would also be a good feature to be able to delegate the review to others that are not a part of the initial review. Now we have issues with key reviewers not having time or are on leave. The reviews get delayed and no option to delegate to others. How can this be solved?
Initiator, reviewer or project admin could be able to delegate to anyone in the project when needed.

the current review feature isnt friendly as the submittals. it would be good the initiator can be assigned to company / roles or allow flexibility to change if original initiator is on leave or not longer in the company. this is allow for continuity of the review process.

We currently have 342 reviews, 105 of them open in a single project.
There is consistently at least one review requiring admin intervention because the initiator is unavailable.

This upgrade is essential to keep workflows moving and to avoid unnecessary delays.

This is something we all need. People leave company, project, go on long term sickness , holidays  and they don't re-assign or finish reviews, which we have no way of re-assigning. ADMINS should be able to change the INITIATOR.

Status changed to: Under Review

Thanks for sharing your idea and thank you for everyone's engagement! Our Product teams are taking a look and will update a status here when we know more.

Absolutely agree with this, it affects the comment round history as someone will leave/go on annual leave so someone else in their team creates a new review then the old one needs voiding upon the initiator's return or by admin.

100% agree with this. Not having this function will impact projects reaching completion milestones/contractual dates.

Strongly support this enhancement.
My understanding is reviews are locked to the original initiator, if that person is unavailable there is no way to transfer. This creates delays and extra manual effort.

I strongly support this .Review workflows should not be dependent on a single individual. When initiators are unavailable or leave a project, administrators should be able to transfer review ownership without losing review history or restarting the process. This would improve efficiency, maintain auditability, and prevent unnecessary delays to project delivery

Status changed to: Future Consideration

Hi again everyone and thank you for the continued conversation. I'm updating this status to 'Future Consideration' for now as we are aware of this scenario but no current plan to tackle right now. As most you likely know, Admins can act as the initiator for now as a potential workaround. That said, please stay tuned - our Product teams leverage this feedback daily and we'll update here as we work through potential prioritization in the future.

Hi @jonminick,

We understand that the admin can act as the initiator. However, this workaround may not be practical when the original initiator is a third-party supplier, subcontractor, or other external party, as it could raise concerns regarding roles, responsibilities, ownership, and potential legal implications.

As we have highlighted on several occasions, providing the flexibility to change the initiator would enable a more seamless review process. It would also allow ongoing reviews to continue without being voided or closed due to the current rigid system settings.

Hi @jonminick,

I would also like to highlight again how important it is to implement this.

This workaround is really not practical, to say the least. We currently have 1,132 reviews, of which 220 are open, in a single project with 232 members. It is really not feasible to have an admin on call every time the original initiator is unable to update the reviews.

Also, as pointed out above, the majority of the reviews are posted by external members, namely designers. It is complex to work around what would be very simple and natural if this were already implemented.
