Tiling textures by texture's edge pixels

Hi

I am having an issue where I am trying to repeat a texture in a certain way. Basically I have a mask I am trying to tile by its edge. So 3d max would interpolate the edge pixels of the texture and repeat them. In my texture example attached, I want the repeat to just be black.

In Isotropix's Clarisse, there is a drop down option for this (see attached snapshot).

If this options isn't available in 3d max, does anyone suggest a workaround?

We can do something like that with a small OSL shader.
Can you show the result of the other app? Just need to make sure I get what you want.

If your white paint just needs to be the only thing visible, and extension up and down remains black, switch the default Wrap mode from Periodic to non on an OSL Bitmap.

Hey Madsd,

Here are the options I have in clarisse, first screen grab is what I am after.

"switch the default Wrap mode from Periodic to non on an OSL Bitmap." Could you please go into detail a little more, I I am using the general bitmap with 3d max 2017.

Alright, OSL was introduced in max 2019 and has since then matured.
It's really easy to do this with an OSL shader, in for example 2021.
Someone else have to help you out, I don't have or support anything older than 2021 ( which can down save to 2019 ) I simply dont have the versions on my machine.
