server problem Entry point not found

Hi All,

Having a wierd problem with backburner.  My main machine that has 3ds max installed and is the manager is having issues when I launch the server.exe on it.

I can succusfully send out jobs and network render with no issues at all.

Its only when I want to use the server.exe on the manager machine do I get this error.

"Entry Point Not Found" see the enclosed jpg.

Anyone else run into this, not sure how to fix this.

Thanks

Alex

Hi @Anonymous,

Apologize for the problem.

To resolve this conflict with the backburner rendering node, try shutting down the backburner service:

  1. My Computer > Manage > Services
  2. Right click on Applications > Services > backburner Server
  3. Right click on the backburner Server > Properties
  4. Change the Startup type to 'Manual'

Note: Reboot your system after this step.

  5. Remove 3ds max by using Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and selecting the 'Remove' option when it displays.
  6. Reinstall 3ds Max and update it with the latest service pack.
  7. Go back to Services (above) and change the status back to 'Automatic'

I cant even find the backburner server running? Nothing shows up when I look for it.

I have to do a total reinstall of max? Man thats an issue right now.

Is this common? why would it just stop working?

Thanks

I would recommend a reinstall from the virtual agent, but if that is going to be troublesome, have you tried resetting 3ds Max to its defaults?
