Greetings. I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong.
I created a rectangular box and added a Edit Poly modifier and UVW map and textured it. I also used soft selection and edited the geometry.
When I used the Retopology modifier, the texture that I had previously applied turned into an smooth ebony black color over the model. When turning off the Retopology modifier, I can see my texture, but turns ebony black when going back to the top of the stack.
I added another edit poly on top and reapplied the material and it remained a black color. I even added another UVW on top of that and still no joy. I then collapsed the stack and the model still cannot be textured.

In the Auto Edge rollout, check UV Channel (it's off by default) and set it to the appropiate texture channel. Then repeat Retopology.
