this is 2025 max

I can’t switch to 24-25 max because I don’t clearly see where the Wires of nodes come from. Is it just me who has this problem? Or are there others who are bothered by this?
Is there any work going on to fix this?

Do you see this problem also with no-Corona nodes?
Would it be possible to send us that file, or a video that shows how to reproduce it?

Thank you,

Giuseppe

I tested the same scene with a different node direction setting. Apparently testing of the new node system took place in the default settings.
I enabled the default and everything looks good.

Hello, is there any progress on resolving this issue?

Seems like it could be a Corona issue. Three questions:

1. Have you looked at the Corona Forum to see if anyone else has this issue?

2. Have you uninstalled Corona, and "without reinstalling it" rebooted, and tested to see if it still happens with Max Standard materials?

3. If the answer to #2 above is "no", then reinstall Corona and see if it the problem is still there?

4. If the answer to #2 ab ove is "yes", then continue to pursue it with @giuseppe.schiralli

I don't have Corona and I couldn't reproduce it. That led me to think is a Chaos/Corona implementation issue and not a Max bug.

Hey @RobH2  @giuseppe.schiralli  I know this is an older thread, but this issue has nothing to do with Corona or any plugins.

Here is my test on a fresh install of Max 2025.3 and how to reproduce it with default nodes:
1. Slate Editor > Preferences > pick Left <- Right mode , restart max
2. Create Checker Map and a Physical Material
3. Pipe Checker output into Physical Material's Base Color Map
4. Hide Physical Material's inputs by pressing "-"

Expanding all outputs generally draws things correctly, but the editor gets really cluttered if you have to open all of them.

Note that the issue seems to apply mainly to material nodes, most maps that I've tested appear ok.

I'm going to leave this one to @giuseppe.schiralli as he's way more qualified and connected to the dev team. I can't reproduce it though.

I was able to reproduce it on 3 separate machines with a fresh install of Max. I tried on both win10 and win11. Make sure you follow the steps outline in previous post

I tested everything on the new 3ds max 2026.
the problem is still here and it seems like no one even tried to fix it. 😢

LEFT > Right (Nodes wires are displayed correctly 🆗)

for those who can't repeat this (for some reason) I'm attaching a 3d max file with a simple branched shader, which will clearly show the problems with the wires. if you switch the mode and reboot 3d max.

I see that @giuseppe.schiralli has viewed this thread. Hopefully, he can shed some insight. Have you officially reported it? If not, please do.
