Mirror reflection problem 3ds max / Mental Ray

Hi all.

i´m having a problem with max and mental ray, when i render an image, the reflection in the mirror looks stained, i tried various combinations in the FG and GI values always with the same result. the curious thing is that if i do an area render of the mirror it looks fine, if i move the camera to some angle it looks good but the point is that im doing a walk trough so there´ll be some angles that will look awful if i dont correct this error. In the attached file you can see what is going on.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi. We might need a bit more information. What Max version are you using? How are the FG (and GI?) being calculated? What are your FG map settings? (GI map?).

Thanks, already found the problem. I had to use FG Point Interpolation and
check the box to use "Use Radius Interpolation Method (Instead of Num. FG
Points)"

Seems to be that everyone is saying its a bug in 3ds Max 2014. Nevertheless
the less it works now.

Thanks for following up.

Did you ever find a solution for your problem with the mirror reflection?

I am having the same issue in 3ds max 2016 and cant find a solution.

Render Setup>Global Illumination>Final Gather>FG Point Interpolation>Use Radius Interpolation Method  (check box) (default unchecked)

Let me know if this worked for you. It did for me.

I guess they changed the Render Setup menus in 2016. Sorry.

It would seem that way.
Anyone got any idea for 3ds max 2016?
