Does 3Ds Max have an equivalent to Maya UV Multi-tile ?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I use 3Ds Max to model and render builds and I would like to try importing them into Mudbox for painting details. I've googled importing objects with multiple material faces into Mudbox and so far I've only found out about how to multi-tile UVs in Maya (http://area.autodesk.com/tutorials/part_1_multi_tile_uv_mapping). I tried it and it works nicely.

Is there a way to multi-tile an object's UV maps in 3Ds Max instead ? It would save time, not to mention I couldn't see how to select polygons by face number in Maya on an already unwrapped object. So I'd really like to be able to do the multi-tiling in 3Ds Max and not have to go through Maya.

Please let me know if it's at all possible. I'd be very grateful!

This page is old, but Neil explains how to work with multiple UV tiles and the advantage of using multiple UV tiles vs. multiple Materials IDs.
