Hi Guys,
Trying to render an animation with Arnold and it's using the CPU not the GPU and taking 30sec -1min for each image 1920x1080. I selected GPU in the Arnold system render setup and I have selected the RTX4000 in the NVIDIA control panel and windows graphic settings but it's still rendering through the CPU.
Have I missed something here?
Any assistance would be much appreciated
Regards,
J

We need more details. Which Arnold version are you using? Have you Pre-populate Cache? Do you have your drivers updated? When there is an error on GPU and it can't render, it automatically jumps to CPU. So, maybe you have a couple of issues you need to fix. The Render Message Window, usually gives you some idea of what is wrong, but you also have the Logs that will provide more detailed information.
Thanks for the responses guys here are the error messages and I already prepopulated the Cache.
I'm running Arnold 6.2.0.0
Yes - Arnold GPU does not yet support everything the CPU-mode does. It will one day... As @CiroCardoso3v mentioned, when an issue makes GPU-rendering impossible it falls back to CPU-rendering. I guess you pulled those materials from an AutodeskMaterialLibrary and I assume you have activated the 3dsMax Map Support in the render-settings (otherwise it wouldn't render neither in CPU- nor GPU-mode).
So either you re-create those materials with Arnold- and/or OSL-nodes or you stick with CPU-rendering.
