3ds Max 2018 & 2020 Material Editor problems

Hi there, I have this problem in both 2018 & 2020 - I'm missing stuff off my basic material editor. It is also not letting me browse for textures. Here is what it looks like:

And here is a typical grayed out texture slot:

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Hello again, I finally got this sorted out.

Turns out my company had installed software to keep an eye on what files we were saving onto our external hard drives, and this was what was messing with MAX. It was also causing problems with the Thumbnail view in Windows.

The IT department just uninstalled their software from my machine, and now MAX is running fine again - so great to have MAX back up to full power!

Hopefully this could help other users with a similar problem.
