Hello @mitviz,

If I am not mistaken that is the overlay for tablet usage in 3ds Max.  Do you use a tablet?  (Wacom perhaps?)

Just close it I think.  I may be incorrect about what it is, I don't get it on my work machine but I did on my home machine at one point in the past.  You could check your startup scripts folder to see what is in there, may be a plugin or something that needs it.  (Body objects maybe?)  Can you expand the borders to see whats in it?  (Blank I imagine.)

What scripts do you have in your root/scripts/startup folder?  Maybe for a 3D mouse?   It's harmless and can be closed I believe.

i dont have any like that but i know i can cose it, i close it all the time but its annoying to see it pop up at the start, just one of those things, is it possible to delete some of the scripts i am not sure about from the startup folder and copy them back in to check on by one?

The worst that can happen is Max doesn't start and you just copy them back in, so it's worth a shot.  You might also check macroscripts.  It's bothering me that I can't put my finger on this one.  Not sure how to search about the window with no name and no content on this end...

I suppose I should suggest resetting user settings just in case.  (Just rename the old ENU folder so if it doesn't help you can just delete the new one and rename the old one back.)  Thanks!

Best Regards,
