Transform Gizmo moving in odd directions when on vertices, etc

I am editing a Editable polygon shape in Max 2019 and it was working fine, however now when I try to move vertices in the shape the xyz gizmo is on an angle and the direction is varied. However when moving the complete shape the xyz gizmo shows true. Is there anyway of resetting it so its true when I do the fine tuning? I have managed to get it sort of working, by changing it to "use working pivot"

Hello @Margaret_Rastall ;

 

When moving vertices, etc., can you try to set your local coordinate system to "Local" from "View"?

Perfect - thank you. Dunno how I inadvertently changed it.

It is in "View" mode by default, I don't think you've inadvertently changed it 🙂
