Subtracting lines from a Geometry

Hello,

i'm looking for some tips or techniques.

i need to subtract the green lines out of this larger geometry. (think groves in a costume). Boolean gives me odd results and also doesn't produce a Quad Mesh.

any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Sculpt it if you want clean result or try Retopology after boolean.

You may be able to use Conform to get something close to what you want.

thanks Ciro,

conform seems good for getting a geo snug to the surface. i'm really looking for a way to cleanly subtract those lines out of the geometry.

In that case, you will have to use the booleans along with the retopology modifier. But due to the complexity of your object, this isn't going to be either an easy or quick task. Dimitry's suggestion is another solution you may want to try.
