Reset object to origin

Good afternoon

I have a floor plan dwg file that doesnt want to align to the z axis on the perspective plane origin point, i have moved it to x:0 Y:0 Z:0, but the floor plane is still far off the z origin point. I have moved the pivot to center of object e.t.c and it is still off. I also tried snapping it to a new "dummy object" which is aligned perfectly on the origin point (z:0 y:0 z:0) which worked, but on the floor plan the z: co-ordinates are way off (even though it is aligned to a perfect object).

Please will someone help if you know what is wrong

Thanks

That sounds odd. Have you tried a "Reset Xform" from the Utilities Panel on it?

Can you upload the file? Maybe just the floorplan if necessary.

  1. Set projection type to parallel.
  2. Type F to go to the front view and verify that the floorplan is 2D.
  3. Set the coordinate system to world.
  4. Set Snaps to Pivot and End Point
  5. Click a top corner of the view cube so that you see an isometric projection of the floor plan.
  6. Go to Hierarchy and Affect pivot only.
  7. Drag the pivot so that it snaps to an endpoint of one of the lines of the floorplan.
  8. Turn off Affect pivot only.
  9. Select floor plan and enter 0 0 0 for the x y z position.
