reflection and matte effects in the same material

Hey guys! sorry i'm really newbie and i have a question...

So, I already used the Uwnrap stuff, my project already has a defuse color and spec level. Now i want to apply the reflection but just on specific places, not on the whole material. Someone can help me? thanks 🙂

Hi

You need to paint a reflection map with black and white zones.  The white areas will reflect, gray areas reflect a few and black areas will not reflect.  Use several brushes to generate a realistic effect.  You can paint inside 3dsmax with viewport canvas or you can paint in photoshop.

Another way is to use a procedural map in your reflection map.  For example you can use smoke or noise map

Cheers
