Proper route to model this colt 1911

I seem to be having trouble. Am I modeling as to where the gun would be able to fire--like the lide back? How is the topolohy? Any suggestions?

The topology is fine but the model is very simple at this point. So there are still differences between it and the original.

End fot the barrel differs a lot for example.

I dont know how many sides muzzle is planned to have. At this point you have low poly barrel and hi poly muzzle. It may result in troubles later.
