I'm trying to create a nose cone of an aircraft, much like the one in a drawing in the 3DS MAX Help page for U Loft Surface (Nurbs). It shows an airliner wireframe and sections consisting of closed NURB splines being lofted into a fuselage. the link to the page with an image is here
I'd like to create a nose cone "cap" the way it is shown in the image of the aircraft fuselage, that is, using a closed NURB spline (an oval) and an open spline defining the shape of the cone "bulge". I can create what I want if I split the oval into two symetrical sides and define the U Loft by the three resulting NURB splines... however, is it possible to do the same without splitting the closed NURBS oval?
