How can I retain edge selection after Turbosmooth or openSubdiv

I can't get stack selection, after I add a turboSmooth modifier, the same problem occurs with OpenSubD,
suppose I have some edges selected, then I apply a turboSmooth, then I add an editPoly modifier to access the same edges (now subdivided to more edges)...I find my selection was lost...

Put Mesh Select modifier under the Turbosmooth to grab selection and pull it up on stack (or copy/paste).

Now you can get selection in Edit Poly.

I appreciate your reply, your method did not work.
apparently after you put the mesh select above the turboSmooth, the selection it remembers now points to different edges.

Note that it worked to preserve the vertex selection, so in the cases where I can convert the vertex selection to the edge selection I need, your method would work fine, just not the perfect workflow, and It may fall short in some cases

Accepted solution

Only vertices keep indices, other is shifted as soon as you put mesh select modifier.

You can see it doubling edges selection count.
