Extrude comes up at a weird angle

Hi, i just learned how to use 3 ds max

I tried to make an extrusion but it come up at a weird angle, i follow some of the advice in the forum including resetting the x-form and turn to poly but its either i did it wrong, or it just seems to have no effect, attached are the pictures.

Any help is appreciated and sorry for the newbie questions. 1.png2.png

In the caddy, select the first option. Try with the second option.

Hi,

I recommend you rotate the base spline or its spline sub-object level

So that it's parallel to the XY plane(top viewport), now use Reset XForm,

You can convert it to Editable Spline now, and from now on the Extrude should work.

Note: When you rotate the base spline make sure that when you look in the front viewport

All its vertices are on the same level.

@Richard.Vivanco is right: in the Caddy controls dialog click on the first option and choose from the drop-down list: Local Normal.
