[QUESTION] Merging existing 3D .obj and Pictures: Which tool, which process

Hello everyone,

I'm quite new to 3D modelling, my only level of knowledge is how to build an OpenGL renderer..!

My question is general, i've no idea of which Autodesk product, tool, is appropriate to do what i have in mind.

I've a 3D object .obj :

And 3 pictures of it from different angles:

And i would like to associate the Object to the textures we can see in the pictures. Obviously, just projecting texture on the model might not give great results, but it would be a start!

If you could point me into the right direction it would be highly appreciated.

If it's not possible, could you tell me what i should start doing to give this obj. proper texturing?

Thanks!

*.obj still uploasing, should be done in 5min*

Your question is bigger than a forum post if I interpret your question correctly.  You are asking how to make materials and how to map them to an object.  There are books and tutorials en-mass on this subject.  I'd start by reading 3dsmax help on making materials and on using the modifier "unwrap UVW".

Not applicable

I think the OP is asking if there's any way of using those 3 images for projecting onto the object - not how to make materials or textures from scratch.  Although, the textures applied don't appear to be all that complex to reproduce at 1st glance.

From what little I've seen in other apps, it may be possible by using some kind of camera matching to get those images onto the object, but I don't think the result would be all that good given that there are only 3 images and they don't fully describe the object for all possible views - or at least not very well.
