Problem with adding an object to an existing group

I've read you open a group, select the object you want added, and then go to Group > Attach. The thing is, nothing appears to happen. The object is still sitting outside of the group in the Scene Window. What am I doing wrong? Could this be a bug?

I am not sure where you read that but no, that is not correct.  The group must be closed for you to add to it.  When there is a closed group in the scene just select the object that you want to add to the group. Select the group menu click attach and then click on the closed group and it will be added to the group.  Works every time.

Hi,

The way described by @10DSpace is the correct way to do it,

Now, if the group is opened, you can still add to it, by selecting the object,

And from the Group menu, click Attach and click on the Pink Bracket representing the opened group,

Now from the same menu click Close.
