How to turn off the glowing outline on object in max 2015. Its really annoying.

What is the name of that yellow outline around the objects?

Scroll down the help page linked above almost to the bottom - they are explained there.
A Yellow outline is a Preview of the object which would be selected if you clicked. Those with a Blue outline are already selected.
