Bridge command won't work

I have 3ds Max 2016 student version. The bridge command was working fine until I got to this part of the tutorial that is supposed to make the back board for the upper cabinet. I've tried repeatedly to get the bridge command to work. I de-selected and re-selected the polygons a number of times before clicking bridge. Is there anything I can do to get the command to work properly? Thanks!

How are you implementing the command?  Are you using a hotkey, clicking the button in the command panel or graphite modeling ribbon, or simply using the "repeat last" operation?  The reason I ask this is because I'm interested to know if you're able to bring up the caddy parameters for the tool, or if you're simply trying to repeat the command again with previously used settings.  You said you can't get the command to work properly, so is there anything happening when you invoke the tool, or is nothing at all occurring?  Is it bridging the faces, but just not in the way you expected, or is there no activity happening at all?

I'm using the command button on the ribbon. When I click it, nothing at all happens. It doesn't bridge the faces in any manner.

Check your normals on the object.  Make sure you don't have any issues there.  Check your vertex count, and make sure you don't have any isolated or overlapping edges/verts.  Out of curiosity, if you hold down Shift when selecting the Bridge command, does it bring up the caddy to adjust settings?  I'm going to assume that isn't occurring either.  Try removing the polygon faces, and doing a bridge operation on just the border selections instead.

I'll check out all of your suggestions. If I hold shift and select bridge nothing happens either, no caddy. After I go through your suggestions, I think I'll just start the tutorial again from the beginning. I must have done something wrong when I built this upper cabinet. Thanks for the help!

I have found that often the normal's on a polygon are usually the issue when bridge doesn't work make sure that the objects you bridge are both facing the same direction.
