User Interface

User Interface

For those of us who work with multiple Autodesk programs such as Revit, CAD, and 3DS max, it would be helpful if the user interfaces were somewhat consistent between them. For instance, the use of a command line as found in CAD or the use of the Ribbon as in Revit. I understand each have commands unique to the program but there are some commands that are constant across.

For example, to draw a line, each program has a different way of doing it.

Unfortunately, the scope of this would take too long for us to implement in a timely manner. We try to make sure that similar tools are the same, but it's not always the case. With our more recent UI overhaul, we have tried to align with other applications at least on iconography. In many cases though, it's difficult to change one vs. another based on the typical user interaction. It's very easy for workflows of individual apps to 'fall apart' when dealing with compromises between apps.
