uncomfortable button eats a lot of space

This button (viewports) can not be transferred to any other conventional panel as a normal button.
These empty space can not accommodate the usual other buttons.
A lot of useless place, many years. I always turn it off because of uselessness.

this should be done as a normal drop-down button (like the editor's material) so that it can be moved to any place

That empty space is supposed to be filled with your saved viewport configs (saved presets for camera/perspective/ortho/trackview/other extended viewports) like this: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/3DSMa...

In the most common resolution of 2560 there is a lot of space for these buttons.
4k monitors even more. This is not an allowable luxury to spend so much space.

Help example have 1600 resolution, now self-respecting designers do not work on this for a long time.

Yes, UI idea is good ... but only for who use it... my suggestion is to close it if not used.... but....

Need a bit revisit from UI style to have a less invasive in future....

The tool is very useful! (some in Ribbon strip?)

its utility doesnt justify the real estate it takes
