Removing the old stuff..

Removing the old stuff..

Lots of things in 3ds max are obsolete and double. Leading users to confusions and making max bigger and messy.

1. Why do we keep the Video Post for? Its so obsolete. Last time I used it was in over 22 years ago.

2. We have the new PBR material.  Great! So right now we have like 4 pbr materials. Physical Material, metal and glossy pbr materials. Can we just focus on one? Its so confusing.

3. I notice that there is in Material editor a library called Autodesk material or something. I think it was working back then when max had mental ray - you cant even render that materials out.

4. In 2025.3 you moved two menu options to other places. Thats ok but why you leaved the old tabs in the old places.  I guess only for information whete to find it but again it makes 3ds max Messy and duplicates the things. I think we could temove that tabs and infos in new release.

5. Why the Art Renderer is still available? XD come on its soo obsolete.

What other things you find that are:

- old/obsolete

- doubled

- messed up

- ...

The common rendering tab feels outdated and could use a modern overhaul. Additionally, the Asset Tracker panel is quite old and tends to be sluggish. Blender, for example, has implemented similar features in a much more efficient and user-friendly way:

I don't know if the architecture of Max lends itself to this, but I like the way that Maya's Plugin Manager handles loading or not loading various parts of the program as plugins. Things that are deprecated but perhaps still needed for some few obscure pipelines are not loaded by default but can be loaded at will and set to autoload. It is very user-friendly and can be searched.

Max's plugin manager could be more helpful toward the OP's complaint. It does show that some things are deferred from loading until used, but that still leaves the interface clutter. The choices of what is loaded seem to be bundles of things that are somewhat vague in terms of what components are contained therein. Surely there is a way to allow individual features like VPost to stay out of sight unless someone deliberately sets it to load.

Their one dev has his hand full ok! How can he remove the old stuff when he's busy updating that 1 modifier for each yearly update

old modifiers , compound objects that have been converted into modifiers etc.
