The Revit to Max workflow needs major fixing. The tessellation of solid objects to polygon surfaces has already been flagged on this site. Another issue is that any UVW mapping applied to an imported Revit object in a metric environment will be the wrong scale. Usually this is "fixed" by applying an X-Form to the objects and converting to poly/edit mesh. This can introduce even further tessellation issues. I believe this is due to Revit working internally in imperial measurements and converting to metric. Please bear in mind that apart from Liberia and Burma, The USA is the only county in the world that does not use metric.
Could this XForm resetting be included in the FBX/Revit conversion so that the geometry is read at the correct scale upon import?
Thanks
