Option to ALWAYS Adopt File's System Scale

Option to ALWAYS Adopt File's System Scale

When switching between files using different System Units this dialogue appears:

While it is nice to be able to pick what should be done to the scene units, in 99% of the cases you likely just want to adopt the file's system units.

It would therefore be nice to have a setting to automatically use your preferred option, that is to say, the user can choose to ALWAYS adopt file's unit scales when scene units mismatch. In other words, when there is a scene units mismatch this dialogue will not appear and your desired default action is taken for you.

Disabling this setting will bring back the dialogue again when scene units mismatch.

The reason why this is important is because preserving individual scene units matter when you do things like physics simulations, shader effects depending on distance units, or exporting to external systems depending on specific units.

Accidentally rescaling your scene, or not understanding the consequences of rescaling can severely ruin your scenes because you often don't notice the errors on the surface. Everything might look fine at first, and then you save your scene and might not have appropriate backups available. When you work in scenes that prefer different system units it becomes tedious and risky to constantly handle this dialogue, especially since it sometimes seem like the pre-selected option is to Rescale rather than Adopt. If you are quick you might chose rescale by accident.

Please consider this.

that should also be applied to the Gamma/LUT dialog.

I can add that if you have mismatching system units for Xref scenes you get a similar window asking you to confirm conversion for every Xref object in the scene you are opening. I would say that in 99% of the cases you do want to convert the units (so that all objects are proportionally sized across the scenes).

In other words, a Preferences option to ALWAYS rescale mismatching Xref scenes can improve the user experience for a lot of users out there. It's not uncommon to have different system units depending on individual scene size (a small object is modelled with Millimeters, while a large city is modelled in Meters), but combining them will always lead to this prompt. And making all scenes have the same system unit is not really ideal if further updates to scene content is needed.

There is also the prompt when Gamma settings mismatch between scenes. I'd say that in most cases you do want to adopt the settings, so it would be useful to be able to always adopt incoming scene gamma settings as well.

That's great idea to have this option. Anyone know how to deal with it?
