A simple task, to make a grid from a curved plane. See how well and evenly the free Blender handled it. And how 3d max coped with this task (or rather failed). it seems that the Lattice modifier works strictly in 2 planes. If you reduce the number of sides to 3, it's terrible. A clear example of how the modifier handles the cylindrical shape in a free blender and in an expensive max. Are you going to do something about it, or is Max already perfect enough to make a difference? The Lattice modifier should work as in Blender + have the ability to rotate edges at any degree.
