Did you mean:

Keep modifiers names when copy/paste them from one object to another.

Keep modifiers names when copy/paste them from one object to another.

When a modifier name is edited/customized (example: UVW Map to UVW Map scratches) it goes back to the initial name when it is copied from one object to another.

Is there a reason for that?

Thank you.

Good point. Number padding would be useful when the same-named modifier already exists in the stack, like:
UVW Map scratches

*paste*

UVW Map scratches_2

I`m having this same problem. Please fix it.

While that doesn`t happen: instead of copying the uvw mapping, delete them all, select all objects where you need it. Recreate the uvw mapping, done. They have the same name and properties now.

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to say that this improvement is now available in 3ds Max 2020, available through the Autodesk Desktop App or your account portal on manage.autodesk.com
