Instancing is not as memory efficient as it should be. Comparing some test using vray proxies vs instancing the same object, Instancing in max reach ram limitsmuch before vray proxies, and can handle much les copies. Whats the reason? Instancing in max shouldnt be as memory efficient as a vray proxy in terms of rendering?
We have third party solutions for instance (not meshing) particles. We have vrayparticle instancing for instance vray proxies over pflow or TP, or Frost 2 for vray instancing over TP and pflow.
BUT we should have a solution from 3dsmax than can be integrated by all third parties. how is possible that we dont have any solution for Instance efficiently geometry over particles at this point? We should have a solution that works at least for arnold but than can be adapted for any other renderer, and other plugins can benefit from. We need a solid 3dsmax base.
