Hotkeys!

Hotkeys!

Do you happen to run out of available hotkeys on your left arm when working with 3ds max? if yes, please upvote this idea.

1. First of all, i would like you to fix spacebar hotkey, so that I can assign a custom turbosmooth modifier on it.

A link to my forums post: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/3ds-max-forum/spacebar-hotkey/m-p/7688762/highlight/false#M153128

2. Second. It would be extremely useful if you added another layer of flexibility by adding Double (Mulitple) Letter Hotkeys.

a) Currently we can only use CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+LETTER.  Thats is ok, but for a lot of modelling operations that are out there this is simply not enough. I suggest you implement such combinatons as CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+LETTER+LETTER+LETTER (maybe up to 3 or 4 letters) i think windows allows up to 4 letters pressed at the same time.

b) Another layer of flexibility is what if we could hold A button and press another button to execute an operation or command? like A+D? would that be possible?

c)  And a little suggestion, is a toggle button(assignable to macro) to disble/enable Caps Lock and TAB buttons inside 3ds max, so that you can use those as CTRL+ALT+SHIFT windows commands?

Thanks!

1. Works, see my response in the thread

2. You can use multi-key shortcuts if you configure custom quads, bind them to a hotkey and bind their menuItems to keys. That way you can replicate the behavior that's used for example by the view quad (i.e. press V-K for back view, V-B for bottom view etc.)

While the input field doesn't catch them, you can assign special keys (such as Delete or TAB) by editing the .kbdx file.

Alternatively, if you want more flexibility, contexts and multi-tap shortcuts now, you can try keyhydra.

Keyhydra looks fantastic, but i want to see their functionality 3ds max by default.

So I guess noone wants to work 10 times faster:-)
