The ability to blend 32 bit texture maps would take animation of digital doubles to the next level.
Static texture maps - especially displacement and bump maps, currently makes credible morphing/blending of facial features extremely difficult.
Wrinkles, facial lines and pores created with displacement maps, should stretch, move and (dis)appear as the facial expressions changes.
Only way to do that now, is by using a high polygon model and only use bump/displacement maps as means to break up reflections.
The ability to blend or morph texture maps, would vastly improve the quality and credibility of animated digital doubles.
