Face weighted vertex normals

Face weighted vertex normals (when vertex normals are perpendicular to at least biased towards the larger face) give more natural looking shading of the objects in most cases, so it will be good if we have this behavior by default or easy way to switch it in Preferences or in Edit Normals modifier

Requires some setup but results are good enough 🙂

this idea went  off my radar but great to see lots of small ideas being accepted

there are a couple of scripts to do weighted normals, but at least we need the same as maya does

This is now available in 3ds Max 2021 in the Weighted Normals Modifier.
