Expose sub-selection parameters - Modifier

Expose sub-selection parameters - Modifier

Hi!

In max there is no way to get parameters of a sub-selection.

Such as the center of mass point or bounding box center point of a poly / face / vertex / edges / elements selection. As X,Y,Z coords for example.

And maybe other useful parameters and data form sub-selections.

I think a modifier would be a good solution for that, similar to the ExposeTM helper, wich exposes values of the current sub-selection in the modifier-stack.

Another good example to compare that is the "Extract Centroid" SOP node of Houdini, which does exactly this.

This could be especially useful to link other objects to those positions. Or to be used with wire parameters, expression controllers or script controllers. Also to help max reinforcing procedural workflows.

Thank you and greetings!
