Have a direct RFA revit library item IMPORT for 3dsmax
It is really frustrating downloading vendor's furniture library files as an RFA but I cannot directly import them into max without having Revit... which I do not. I have to ask a friend to convert them for me.
3ds Max has an important roll in all about BIM. If this will not work soon, people and companies will look for alternative solutions and BIM is about to explode soon.
Just tried 2019 still has no rfa import, also had notification of the increase in maintenance fees, pressure to switch to subscription and install the whole design suite. Seems very costly option just to convert an rfa file?
How is this not done yet? Autodesk to Autodesk. Come on. None of us Max users are going to by Revit. Ever. By not including rfa support you are just promoting other formats and software tools.
Hey, this needs to be dealt with. I'm shocked that 3ds Max can't read an individual model from its sister application, Revit. This isn't some weird foreign file format no one knows about, this is a dominant format owned by the same company. No excuse for this unless the point is to sell more Revit subscriptions....

Can't autodesk at least have a paid for plugin or convertor. There's no way we're getting Revit but the company might shell out for a plugin or stand-alone convertor.
Exactly. I start to believe it is a purpose to buy a Revit for converting... Bad politics in that case, just make me think about alternatives. My company pays so many software to Autodesk and this still being issue is really bad.
Want to point out that this issue is even more relevant now that Autodesk is getting rid of floating licenses. My company can't afford a separate Revit license JUST so i can convert RFA files and save out revit models the way I want to import them into Max. Why can't these two softwares that you own speak to one another?
