Detach by element / Detach by face

Detach by element / Detach by face

We are missing some options to do massive detaching by elements, or by faces, or by group of faces that should be there by default.

So far only effective "Detach by element" script I know that works for huge amount of geometry is "Rayfire". But you need to pay 350$ for this basic function. I found some free ones, but they are super slow or simply fail when you deal with millions of faces/thousands of elements.

This will be terrible helpful for FX artist, and motion graphics.

Was one of the scripts you looked into Soulburn Scripts? He has an object detacher that detaches by element.

I tried on the past like 3 different types. not sure if soulburn was amount them. I will check again, but most of them was really slow, and found only usable one for huge amount of elements was the one in rayfire.

Its cool we have this as scripts. But is not a so commont thing to do, that we can have this as a Tool, totally optimized, with some options?

detaches by element

1) Apply Edit Mesh

2) Explode with 180.

Gandhics, thats a good one. Now we can thing about usability?

Im new, I have an editpoly and I need to detach by elements. I think the last place I will look to do so is to apply an editable mesh, find the explode parameter and do it like that.

Works for frag by elements, but what if we want to explode by faces? (yes, at zero will do so, but I dont want triangles), or having more obtions like fragging this by a fix quantity of objects, that is not dependent on face angle, etc...

I think we should have an option for global fragmenting as a tool, can be powerful and fast.
