Default render size

I would like to set the default render size. 

I always render HDTV. I don't want to have to open Render Settings > change to HDTV then hit render. 

When I open a new file and click the render production -- it should render whatever size I have added to the preferences for that button. 

If I need something different -- I can change to that setting. But 99.9 percent of what I do is HDTV.

Save it in a maxstart.max file in the maxstart path, then each new scene will have that pre-set.

Great, I am happy that the resolution to this was so straight forward.

We have a research topic planned to look at opportunities to improve the render setup experience that I think this could be included with as some easy low hanging fruit. Can you guys think of any other render setup annoyances that can't be resolved as easily?

Making a start up script was easy -- but I still think that setting the
default render could be a function in the "Render Setup" dialog box (or
Preferences.)

Then I wouldn't have need to go into the forum to ask "how to do it"

And it wasn't totally clear what I was supposed to do, so I still had to
go back to the help files to see that I needed to save a script with the
name maxstart.max

Maxstart.max topic comes up quite often, would be probably helpful to have 'Say current file as a Maxstart preset' in Preferences -> Files. Workspaces have their own presets but that's another underused area, and more people are likely to explore the main preferences.
