Calculate math expressions in input boxes (i.e. "10m+2.5" becomes "12.5m")

Calculate math expressions in input boxes (i.e. "10m+2.5" becomes "12.5m")

  1. Allowing calculations in input boxes would be a really useful feature in future releases i.e. 1.95cm/2, sin(35), cos(pi*3/4)*12, ((6*1.5)/7-8)^2.
  2. Allowing unit conversion in input boxes i.e. "100in" would convert to "254cm" if cm were the default unit.bksong_0-1597717298266.png

This change to transform type-in, object parameters be a convenience a lot of users would appreciate. Please consider! 😊

Currently you can do it using ctrl+n.
I think it is good to keep ctrl+n as it is and reflect your opinion
The ctrl+n function allows you to see more formulas better. But cumbersome
Your opinion is good, but the ctrl+n function should be maintained because the existing field is narrow

CTRL+N! When did this happen? I've been doing that in the little listener console. Then copying and pasting.

If you type r10 and hit enter it will add to the number and r-10 will subtract.

In the Curve Editor the Key Entry toolbar uses n/10, where n represents the current value.

I like bksong's suggestion.

Ctrl+N has been there already in max 4 I think.

Same for the input in other units, been there for a long tim, you just don't use 10in for inches but the double prime (double quote) ie 10", single one for feet etc.

I think this idea should be more complete and have more potential
