Viewport SLI question

I have the student version of 3ds max 2015. Is there an SLI support in the viewport? I happen to have 3x970 GTX gpu cards but it only uses one of them. When I increase the poly number the viewport stops completely for a second all the time I select a new object or when I stop rotating the scene. Its pretty annoying, I have 32 gigs ram, pretty strong 12 threat i7 CPU and still it does it. Its not a complicated scene just a room full of stuff. Is there any settings I can try to stop this annoying stuttering? Thanks!

Thanks for the answer!

I have bought SLI few months ago, and I still havent figured it out why its uselful.. it was expensive but nothing supports it, not even games, even if they are, its buggy and overheating. Biggest nonsense ever.

Do you have any idea for the slowing of the viewport?

So nobody has any real solution for this problem.

The viewport is kinda the most important thing in studio max when you work and I could use 3 video card for that, insted two of my card just sits in my pc dont do anyting..

anybody? There must be a patch or something:S

Why not? It could be a great advantage for people who has SLI. is there any plans for the future to support this feature?

Thanks for answering!

I have had no issue with having a few million polygons in the viewport while navigating; this goes back to Max 9.

Try the following:

- If you have 2 monitors run each monitor off of its own video card.

- Turn off Realistic and use Shaded for the viewport rendering.

- Turn off viewport display of bitmaps if they are not crucial.

- Turn down viewport bitmap size.

- Try turning on Progessive Display or Adaptive Degradation in the viewports.
