I'm not sure if this is a bug or just some setting I am not aware of. Notice my xyz at the bottom of the scene. I select in space to as i often do to get out of the command and it shoots me in outer space.

Some times its fine and other times is terrible.

Hello @Anonymous,

There are two things that have an effect over this.  The first is the type of orbit mode you are currently using in combination with where you clicked to rotate the world.  If you want to orbit around the object, keep it selected.  You may also find that a different orbit mode is better for you.  You can adjust them in the bottom right of your interface as shown below.  Hold down a click to expand the menu and see more options.

The other thing that can cause this is if 3ds Max is being run on a 2nd or 3rd monitor instead of the primary one.  The easy fix is to make the monitor it is on the primary monitor, or move it to the primary monitor.  It will work in 2nd or 3rd monitors as long as they are the monitors with the most DPI, otherwise things like this can happen.
