Saving down .mat file to previous version of max

Is it possible to save a .mat from 2021 down to 2017?

Hello @kelvinUVNUB ,

 

I could be wrong here, but I don't think the .mat format has evolved much...  Are you sure you're using the material import in the material editor and not the File-> Merge dialog?
