Physique wont merge

Hi, I hope someone will be able to help me please.

I'm using Max 2010 Design Extension and am trying to merge a biped with physique from Max 9 which I downloaded from Turboquid into a 2010 file.

The biped part of the person merges but none of the physique part does.

I've tried searching the forum and have ensured the units match etc. Has anyone got any ideas?

I don't usually work with charcter animation so am a bit out of my depth.

Is the original file OK, if you Open it, not merge it?

Hi, yes the original file works fine, the physique is all there and the movement works fine etc. When I come to merge into another file, the physique items don't even show in the list of items to merge.

Hi again, I thought it might help if I attached the max file in question.

Please can someone using Max 2010 try merging it into another file and see how they get on with it?

Edit your post, attach the max scene which MUST be ZIPPED (not .rar or anything else) then Submit - do NOT preview.

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

Either I'm being rather dim today, or it just doesn't work. At all. Ever.

Just tried merging (in Max 9) a character from one of the standard Max tutorials, following the instructions in the help - and it doesn't work.

Either I'm missing something or there's a problem here.

Can anyone get a biped + physique to merge in any version of Max?

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

This is really odd. I've tried all sorts of things, and nothing works. Using Physique to Skin Utillity didn't do it.
It must be something with this file, other files with Physique merge OK.

Thanks to both of you for trying. I'll go back to Turbosquid and ask the author of the file to amend it for me - looks like it's an issue with the original file. Thanks again, Sarah

I merged the old SK_BABY.MAX from early CS. The Physique skin came in OK. With this file I only get his hat, which doesn't have physique, and the biped.
I've re-saved the file in 2010, converted the physique to Skin, converted the mesh to Epoly and re-applied the skin. None of this makes any difference, I'm stumped.
