Outliner: compatibility fix for 3ds Max2017+ released

I just released a 3ds Max 2017 compatible version of the famous Outliner scene manager tool ( now on 2.1.6 ).

Previous versions of Outliner would crash on open in 3ds Max2017 SP1 and SP2, because of an array initialization bug in 3ds Max 2017.

Much thanks! You know I've heard the Maya users rave about the Outliner for some time but I have never checked it out. Is it that much better than the Scene Explorer? I will do some research  - may be just what I need! 🙂

Thanks, man!

Thank you. Can't imagine working in 3ds max without Outliner.

And yes, its interface is better. And if you don't like the defaults, you can change and adjust things from settings.

Thanks, Josef.  It works great for max 2016.

I had an idea (maybe just for my workflow) but I like having my hidden objects not intermingled with my unhidden objects..it's easier to keep things organized when they are separate.  I used your option to hide hidden objects in the unhidden objects view...which works well for that.

Only thing is I have to invoke the unhide dialog to unhide things.  It would be great to be able to open a second instance of the Outliner and set it to show only hidden objects, or to have a split view in a single instance of Outliner, right side can show hidden objects, left side can show unhidden objects.  Then a drag and drop, or double click or light bulb icon click or something can move them between the hidden and unhidden state.

Just an idea...

BTW is the code available somewhere?  If you don't have the time and don't mind, perhaps I can take a shot at making this...might take me some time as I'm a slow coder.

EDIT: nvm, I just found the code...thanks.
