Objects which cannot be transformed or grouped

Hi everyone,

I've been having issues with several objects in a scene I imported from a .step file.

When I try to move, rotate or scale nothing happens and the option to group the object is also greyed out. I've tried to solve the issue using solutions posted on this forum and others (such as Customize/preferences/animate/factory reset,  checking the controller settings and renaming the ENU folder) however non of the solutions I've found have solved the issue.

I have also tried this on another PC in case there was an issue with my install.

Thanks in advance

Peter

Can you send the scene file for testing?

Hi,

Select the object, go to Element sub-object level, select all the polygons,

In the Edit Geometry rollout, click on Detach, keep the defaults(that means both options should be unchecked), choose a name for your object and click OK.

Now the old object doesn't have any geometry in it, so you can delete it. And use the newly created object.

I'm attaching the same file but fixed using the method I described

Hi @miledrizk

Thanks for having a look at this. I followed what you said and it worked great. I can only speculate but I think it may have been caused by the grouping as it was part of a large CAD assembly and how I was trying to simplify it.

Thanks again Smiley Happy
