Not Responding!

MAX 2021 and picking scripts still send MAX into a tailspin with the stupid Not Responding! Not all the time, but maybe 40% of the time. I am loosing so much time/money in MAX it might be a good time to move onto something else, like Blender. It's bittersweet because I have been in MAX since the '90s, but MAX isn't any longer a professional software.

I have 7 things to merge in and on the 4th, NOT RESPONDING!

Really, I am a peaceful guy, but AD and 3DS MAX is maddening! Drag in the layer manager and MAX goes into Not Responding!

Pull down the frame buffer save, to save as a layered EXR and you guessed it, NOT RESPONDING!

Picking the frame buffer to save icon and an instant not responding! Yes, wait an hour for a rendering and I can't save it.
