Instsall for Retopology??

Hi,

I wanted to start learning the new retopology tool and don't see it in my autodesk app. I scoured the website and can not find a direct link to install it? Where can I find it?

look on your Autodesk Account: manage.autodesk.com

you also need 2021.3 installed which is also on your account

I have 2021.3 installed. And it's not in manage.autodesk.com.

We are sorry for the challenge.

You should be able to see the link to download  when you login to https://manage.autodesk.com/ , click on 3ds Max, then click click the Updates & Addons tab as in image below. There you will find installation files for various Max-related updates as well as the Retopology plugin. Please let me know if this helps.

Going just by your user name on this forum, I cannot find any account that has 3ds Max.
You may want to contact support via manage.autodesk.com if your account should have some products listed.

Max should be there if you have an active subscription for 3ds Max. Can you confirm that your subscription is active?

I was trying out that 30 day trial install. Maybe those options don't show up under trial? Under my account I insert my credit card and magically everything shows up! Amazing.

Hi @Anonymous,

To confirm -- yes, the Retopo tools are not available on your Autodesk Account if you're running a trial version of 3ds Max. If you subscribe to 3ds Max Indie or the full commercial version, both 2021.3 and ReTopo will appear in Updates and Add-Ons. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the clarification. I purchased the indie license for a year. Since I still have 23 days left on my trial will those days be added to my renewal date next year?

Hi, I have 3ds Max 2021.3 installed. As a teacher, I'd like to introduce this tool to my students next semester but it doesn't show in the Updates & Add-ons.

*I have the usual educational licence from my university.

Thanks for your question! I'm not aware of restrictions on ReTopo for Educational licenses, so I'm asking some of the Max team members to clarify this. As soon as I hear back I'll let you know. Thanks!

Was there ever an answer to this question?? I am a student and I have the student version of 3ds Max and would like to use the retopology tool but can't seem to find it in updates or anywhere else. Are education versions of Max excluded from this feature? If so is there a way to make that possible? Thanks!

HI, i am holding permanent license for 3ds max 2021 too but i don't find it at my Autodesk Desktop Apps also in my manage.autodesk.com either. It just nothing but i can update my max from 2021.1 to 2021.3 via Desktop Apps but nothing with Retopology, it just won't show. My license is under my company not personal license something. How do I install this Retopology because I have some project that needs to speedup the progress with this new feature. Thank you.
